College Next-Fall 2020 Begins on September 9th

Have you been thinking about beginning college for the first time or returning to finish up your degree? Do you need to brush up on your math, computer or writing skills?

RSU 13 Community and Adult Education offers a program that successfully prepares students for college level coursework by building both skills and confidence.  It is supported by the UMA-Rockland Center and has been held on campus for the past five years. This year we anticipate a face-to-face orientation at UMA-Rockland Center, followed by online classes via Zoom meetings.

College Next has three sections. You may take any combination that meets your needs and schedule:

  1. COL 100-Introduction to the College Experience (3 credit course) covering study skills, financial aid, career planning, college technology skills, and more.
  2. English Skill Building to improve Accuplacer scores and prepare for college level English.
  3. Math Skill Building to improve Accuplacer scores and prepare for college level math.

All instruction is free and the supply fees are very affordable.

College Next is sponsored by a state-funded College Transitions grant received by Adult Education programs in the Midcoast Adult Education and Career Access Services Hub which includes coastal programs from Belfast to Topsham.  RSU13 Adult & Community Education is one of eight Adult Education Programs in the grant partnership.
