August 2020 —
Coming Monday, August 10!
We are delighted to announce our upcoming MURAL at The Apprenticeshop!
RSU 13’s Adult & Community Education Youth Arts Program, Arts in Action, will collaborate with The Ashop and OCMV staff to offer a three week mural arts engagement for youth ages 13+ to paint the length of the Main street elevation at Rockland’s own school for traditonal wooden boatbuilding and seamanship. High school artists are invited to participate as Project Interns, the weekly commitment for interns a minimum of 10-12 hours a week.
Project Interns will learn the techniques and skills for the mural from start to finish: Including, surface prep, drafting and transferring the artwork, painting and finishing touches. Interns will also be introduced to project management and working directly with volunteers to share techniques and process day to day. Hours can be honored as Community service hours and/or used towards Liberal Arts Academy for OHS students.
Community members of all ages are invited to volunteer on scheduled Community Painting Shifts.
LIMITED SPACES AVAILABLE, REGISTRATION IN ADVANCE IS KINDLY REQUIRED.
For more information or to reserve a space as a volunteer or student project intern contact, Alexis Iammarino, rasaartsinaction@gmail.com or 207-390-1139.
Arts in Action (AiA) is a program of Regional School Unit 13 Adult & Community Education with support from the ANONIMO Foundation.
